- Grate the onion on the large holes of a box grater and squeeze out the liquid. Add to a bowl with the ground chicken.
- Finely grate the ginger and garlic into the bowl using the small holes of the grater.
- Finely chop the cilantro and add.
- Add the cornstarch and a little salt, and mix.
- Form small meatballs and freeze until ready to prepare.
- Dip each chicken ball in water, then flour, then again in water, and again in flour. Twice creates a thin coating, and 3 times creates a thicker coating.
- Cook in boiling water for 30 minutes and serve.
Genius, No-fold Chicken Dumplings
Notes
- You can add 1 carrot, finely grated, to the chicken mixture.
- You can make the dumplings with ground beef instead of chicken.
- The flour in the recipe is for coating only. You’ll have quite a bit left over, but that amount makes it much easier to roll the chicken balls in the flour.
